Pa je tu...čas kopriv. Lansko leto sem posušila toliko kopriv, da imam še kar nekaj zaloge za čaje in čajne mešanice. Koprivin čaj marsikomu ni všeč jaz pa ga obožujem- seveda nesladkanega kot vse. Ko pa človek ugotovi, kakšne so vse njegove učinkovine pa ga spije še toliko rajše.
VELIKA KOPRIVA (Urtica dioica)
Veliko koprivo pozna skoraj vsak. Če ne drugače po njenem pekočem občutku, ko jo zagrabiš. To povzročajo žgalni laski. Posamezen lasek je votla celica, ki ima na koncu glavico. Ob rahlem dotiku se vrh laska odkrhne in zarije v kožo ter tam ostane. Strupena tekočina, ki je v lasku se pri tem izlije v ranico, kar občutimo kot pekočo in srbečo bolečino. Veliko koprivo najdemo ob plotovih, živih mejah in po zapuščenih njivah okrog človeških bivališč.
UPORABA
Nabiramo celo rastlino. V spomladanskem času nabiramo zelene dele rastline, medtem ko jeseni izkopavamo korenine in koprivna semena. Zelene dele lahko nabiramo tudi poleti in jeseni vendar pazimo, da je kopriva mlada in ne prevelika.
Koprive nabiramo previdno s pomočjo rokavic, da nas ne opečejo. Če jo podrgnemo med rokama naj bi izgubila pekoč občutek. Koprive lahko tako uporabimo sveže ali pa jih posušimo.
ČAJ: uporabimo sveže ali suhe zelene dele (lahko posamično ali v čajnih mešanicah). Takšen čaj je odličen diuretik (deluje odvajalno) in primeren pri ledvičnih kamnih. Odpravlja zgago, napenjanje, slabost, visok krvni tlak,... Je eden najbolj univerzalnih čajev za lajšanje težav.
V PREHRANI: Za različne solate, špinače iz koprivnih listov, za namaze, v smoothijih,...Doma delamo špinačo iz mladih koprivnih listov in je res zelo okusna jed.
Špinača iz kopriv je hitra in enostavna. V slani vodi koprive zavremo in kuhamo nekje 5 minut. Koprive odcedimo in jih zmiksamo s paličnim mešalnikom (vodo v kateri smo kuhali pustimo za kasneje). Na olju prepražimo moko in ji dodamo česen. Ko česen zadiši dodamo koprive in jih zalijemo z mlekom ter vodo, v kateri so se prej kuhale koprive. Dodamo sol in poper ter malo smetane za kuhanje.
V KOZMETIKI: Uporablja se pri težavah z lasmi; pri izpadanju las in lasišču s prhljajem. Naredi se poparek ali tinkturo, katere hladne nanašamo na lase in lasišče. Lahko se naredi tudi koprivno mazilo, ki je primerno pri alergijah, ekcemih, suhi koži ni hemeroidih.
ZDRAVILNE UČINKOVINE
Koprive vsebujejo velike količine železa, kalcija, mravljično kislino, histamin, vitamine, klorofil, encime in snovi, ki znižujejo krvni sladkor.
Učinkuje pri:
- revmi (iz semena pripravimo olje, ki naj bi odlično učinkoval pri revmatičnih obolenjih),
- žolčnih in jetrnih težavah,
- za čiščenje telesa,
- diuretik,
- težavah s prostato (uživamo čaj iz koprivnih korenin),
- čisti kri
- visokem krvnem tlaku...
Sedaj pa hitro rokavice gor in hop v najbližji grm, saj jih ni nikoli preveč (če vas pa kakšna speče pa tudi nič zato. Za zdravje se vse potrpi ;) ).

It´s here... nettle time. Last year I dried so many of them that I still have some for teas and tea mixtures. A lot of people don´t like nettle tea but I adore him- unsweetened, of course, like every other tea. When you realize how healthy the nettle is you will definitely use it more.
Nettle (Urtica dioica)
Everybody knows nettle. If nothing else you know the feeling of burning when you grab her. This is because of burnt hairs. Every hair has hollow cell, which has at the end a head. When you touch the nettle you broke the tip of hair. They go into your skin and stay there. You feel burn and pain because of toxic liquid which is in hair when it flows into the wound. You can find nettles at the fences, hedges and abandoned fields around human habitation.
USAGE
You can gather the entire plant. In the spring time we collect the green parts of plants, while in autumn we collect roots and nettle seeds. You can gather green parts in the summer and autumn too but the nettle should be young).
Use gloves by gathering nettles. You can rub nettle between the hands to lose the burning feeling. Nettles can be used fresh or dried.
TEA: use fresh or dried green parts (individually or in tea blends). This tea is an excellent diuretic and suitable for kidney stones. It eliminates heartburn, bloating, nausea, high blood pressure, ... It is one of the most universal tea to relieve many problems.
FOOD: For salads, spinach from nettle leaves, for spreads, in smoothies,... At home we can make spinach from young nettle leaves which is a very tasty dish.
Spinach from nettles is quick and easy. Boil nettles in salted water and cook for 5 minutes. Drain nettles and mix them with blender (leave the water in which you cooked for later). Fry the flour in the oil and add garlic. When the garlic start to smell add nettles and pour in the milk and water from cooked nettles. Add salt and pepper and a little cream for cooking. That´s it.
COSMETICS: Use for hair troubles; for hair loss and scalp with dandruff. Make the infusion or tincture and apply cold to the hair and scalp. You can also make nettle ointment, which is great for allergies, eczema, dry skin is for hemorrhoids.
HEALING PROPERTIES
Nettles contain large amounts of iron, calcium, formic acid, histamine, vitamins, chlorophyll, enzymes and substances that lower blood sugar.
They are good for:
- Rheumatism (prepare oil from seeds; it has excellent effect in rheumatic diseases)
- Bile and liver problems
- For cleansing the body,
- Diuretic
- Problems with the prostate (enjoy tea from nettle roots)
- Purifies the blood
- High blood pressure...
Give the gloves up and find nettles near your home :) It´s never enough of them.
