Restaurant week (Žička kartuzija- teden restavracij)

Vse je enkrat prvič. Tako sva bila letos s fantom prvič na tednu restavracij. Slišala sva že kar nekaj pohval na to temo, tako, da sva se letos na hitro odločila, da greva tudi midva. In mislim, da bova od zdaj naprej redna obiskovalca. Poleg vsega pa sem spoznala še eno super destinacijo za naslednji izlet v lepem vremenu (v petek pred večerjo je bilo deževno in zeloooo mrzlo). Žička kartuzija me je res navdušila. Zraven pa je še zeliščni vrt, tako da je drugo leto spomladi ali poleti ta destinacija na moji must listi.


Kot sem že napisala sva bila s fantom letos prvič na tednu restavracij. V tem tednu se restavracije po celi Sloveniji pokažejo in po ceni 15€ ponudijo kar najboljše jedi. Midva sva se odločila za gostilno Gastuž zraven Žičke kartuzije (Gastuž velja za najstarejšo gostilno na slovenskem). Jedilnik je bil jesensko obarvan in sestavljen iz 4-hodnega menija. zraven sva se odločila še za različna vina po priporočilu gostilne ob vsakem hodu in na koncu bila z vsem več kot zadovoljna. Najin meni je bil sestavljen iz (slike so sicer bolj slabe, saj sem slikala brez bliskavice):


  • Skomarska jelenova pašteta z domačim maslom in prepeličjim jajcem v paxu
  • Bučna kartuzijanska juha iz Gastuževih vrtov s parmezanovim čipsom
    ali Kostanjeva juha iz okoliških gozdov
  • Anin piščančji zvitek s pehtranovim pirejem in vinogradniškim zelenjavnim mošnjičkom
    ali File straniške postrvi polnjen s svežimi jurčki v hrustljavi kruhovi skorjici, pire zelene z limono in ajdov krap
  • Čokoladna tortica z domačim sladoledom in karameliziranimi jabolki.

  • Pri Gastužu so se zelo dobro odrezali. Postrežba je bila na vrhuncu, vsaka jed je bila dobro predstavljena iz strani natakarja, jedi so bile modernega videza tako da nimam pripomb. Najbolj sta me navdušili predjed in bučna kartuzijanska juha (res prava harmonija okusov) medtem, ko sem od glavne jedi ni sladice pričakovala malo več. Sva se pa pri sladici morala že kar pošteno potruditi, da sva pojedla do konca, saj so bile porcije nad pričakovanji. 

    In še nekaj malega o Žički kartuziji. Žičko kartuzijo si lahko ogledate v času odpiralnega časa (glej spletno stran tukaj). Na žalost v času najinega ogleda samostan ni bil odprt tako, da sva ga opazovala samo od zunaj. V obnovljenem delu je odprta razstava o zgodovini žičke kartuzije, v enem delu pa imajo tudi vinsko klet Zlatega griča. Poleg imajo še zeliščarnico in zeliščni vrt, ki sem si ga z navdušenjem ogledala. Pogled na vse skupaj je bil božanski.

    Everything is for the first time. So this year me and my boyfriend went for the first time to restaurant week. We heard quite a few compliments on this topic so we decided to try as well. And now we will be regular visitors. I met another great destination for my next trip in better weather (on Friday before the dinner it was very cold and rainy). I was very impressed about Žiče carthusian. There is a herb garden too so next year in spring or summer this destination is definitely on my must list.

    As I wrote me and my boyfriend were on the restaurant week. In this week the restaurant across Slovenia offered the best dishes for €15. We´ve gone to restaurant Gastuž next to Žiče Charterhouse (Gastuž is the oldest restaurant in Slovenia). The menu was autumn colored and consists of 4 different dishes. We decided to have different wines on the restaurant recommendation for each dish and in the end we were more than satisfied. Our menu was (photos are realy bad because I took pictures without flash):


    Skomar deer pâté with homemade butter and quail eggs in pax
    Pumpkin Carthusian soup from Gastuž gardens with parmesan crisps
    or Chestnut soup from the surrounding forests


    Anna chicken roll with tarragon puree and wine vegetable pouch


    or
    Fillet straniška trout stuffed with fresh porcini mushrooms in crispy bread crust, mashed celery with lemon and buckwheat carp
    Chocolate cake with homemade ice cream and caramelised apples.


    They made a very good job at Gastuž. Their service was at its height, every dish was well presented from the waiter and the food was modern presented so I have no comment. The most delicious for me was appetizer and pumpkin cartusian soup (a real harmony of flavors). From the main dish and dessert I expected a little more. We had some problems with dessert because we were so full. We didn´t expect such portions we got.

    And in the end something about Žiče Monastery. You can have a look inside during opening hours (see website here). During our visit wasn´t open the monastery so we watched it just from the outside. Now is in the renovated part an exhibition of the charterhouse history. In one part they have a wine cellar of the Golden Hill. In addition they also have a herbal shop and herb garden behind the charterhouse which is so beautiful. It was such a great view at all together.
